Just by looking at this picture you would think that the paint is in really good shape. Even seeing it in person in fluorescent light or day light, the paint looks really good. That's what I thought, until I bought a 500 watt halogen lamp. I was stopped in my tracks!! I couldn't believe how bad my paint actually was.

My original plan was to strip the wax, polish and follow with wax. Now I will be adding the extra step of hitting it with a compound. As a noob, my advice to any other noob, is get yourself a good work light. It will tell you the truth!

Try using a swirl remover first rather than compound. That may be all you need and remove less clear coat.

Hard paint on those usually. Try Megs MF Cutting or Finishing pads with M205.
