I'd probably use acetone

That's a no no as well as lacquer thinner on the front windshield. It will affect the film in the middle of the windshield making everything wave looking. If it doesn't still come off with a blade, try barkeeper cleaner. It should come off with a metal blade.

Never had an issue. Your results may vary. We always used it in the body shop. Just do not get on paint, rubber or seals

The damage is not something you see on the glass,it's rather inside the glass. The way to detect damage is drive the car and your vision will be in layers of waves.acetone is safe to use on paint, but not single stage.and no seals or rubbers.as this mistake cost me 380.00 for a new windshield back in the 90's

Wait are you saying lacquer thinner will go THROUGH the outer glass layer and attack the inner film?

(let's assume the grass isn't cracked or chipped)

Are you talking about a windshield ceramic coating/Aquapel or something like RainX?

The inner film that holds the glass together if you were to get in a accident

Detailers Pro Glass Restorer followed by Wurth Clean Prep. I wanted to remove NanoSkins Rain Sealant to appy Black Label Glass coating and it worked out ok.

What would you use with the DP Glass Restorer? Hybrid white pad? I ask as I need to get water spots off my girls windshield.

Are we talking about a physical film which was applied (vaguely like a bra) or a sealant? Some responses seem to be applicable to one, the other to another.
