silver cars :(

So I picked up a silver 2014 VW Jetta and I currently have WDGPS on it. I'm super disappointed that this color just doesn't "pop" like my previous 1998 Red Jeep Grand Cherokee did!

Is there anything I can do to add depth or is it just a product of having a silver car?

What steps did you take before you applied the sealant? Did you clay bar and polish beforehand?

That's silver in general. Have you machine polished the car? I love silver for its lack of showing defects.

As noted above, a good solid paint cleaning and polish will get silver paint looking good.

Both of these I did in the past were sealed with WG3.0 and toped with one of my all time Favorite waxes for light colored and metallic flake paints, WG Fuzion.

The DoDo Light Fantastic is a great wax on silver and white vehicles too.

Different strokes for different folks.. But I'll never understand how detailers/Autogeeks willingly set out to buy white or silver vehicles. To me that's like being part of the league, but deciding not to play. Lol😁

@OP. I miss this beautiful SUV. Unfortunately it was traded in for a white Kia. [not by my choice] I feel your pain.

I have a silver daily driver and the benefit comes down to not looking so dirty during the week between washes. What is the detraction, it just never pops the way certain metallic paints do.

Here is what I have found .... first, polish well. This brings out gloss and reflection. Certain waxes like Souveran Liquid appear to bring out some metallic but I have found I prefer a lot of gloss to really stand out. I currently use several of the sprays like Optimum, Reload, Gtechnic, and Hydro Max with nice success. XMT Spray Wax also stands out and doesn't break the bank, meaning continued use after each wash.

I totally agree here. No matter the color, if you're a geek, you still have high standard to keep that paint!

Dodo juice Diamond White works well for me. Can buy a sampler for $10.99 at the moment.

I had a lot of success popping silver with Collinite 915, Dodo Juice or Liquid Souveran. My preferences are in this order.

Ultimate polish and coat, my last ride was silver and it shined, I used mega trend it was a beauty

A very overlooked polish that is sold here at AG that works really well at making metallic silver pop is Poorboy's World Polish With Sealant. It really pops and when topped with other optically clear waxes or sealants you get even more pop.

In my experience, you don't want wax or wax emulating products on silver. I go for all polymer reflection and flake pop.
