Browsing Craiglist and found a few vintage rotaries. Kinda want them to throw in the display case in my reception area... but really don't have the room as it is haha. Are these worth anything? I apologize in advance for linking straight to Craigslist but my computer won't allow me to upload photos to AG and I'm feeling lazy right now.

As the old saying goes, they're worth what some one's willing to pay for them. I really like your display idea but I wouldn't pay more than $30 for any of those and I would probably spend way to much time "restoring" them. What would a customer with a 50 or $70,000 car think when they walked into your lobby and saw a bunch of rusty buffers? Lol just my .02.

I have the Milwaukee 5455 and it makes a great boat anchor. It was good in its day but really heavy. I would only want an old buffer to display that I used and had memories (nightmares) of.

Good thought but I'd put the money toward a buffer that I could make money with. We just had this discussion at work the other day. Why does everyone feel the need to "collect" things. What are they really worth. When we all die our kids will have no idea what the stuff is and just give it away for free or almost nothing or just throw it out. I collect dies cast cars and guns. The guns are one thing but the diecast will go to my grandchild that coming in 6 months and he won't know the value either. We are all just hoarders.

I got this old polisher at a garage sale for $5. Heavy as all get out. All metal. Can't tell the brand, the plate is missing.

Holy crap! Mount some fan blades to the thing and stick it to the wall!

Even though I, too, am an old-polisher...
I still wouldn't think so.

In fact:
My Wife often reinforces this thought
process of mine, by reminding me:

"there are 7 billion 46 million people on
this planet, and you have the audacity to
think that you actually matter...?"

We are all just hoarders.

I was digging through pots and pans at Thankgiving....and I only ever use about 10% of them, I've got all this storage space all jammed with stuff I never use...

I thought you were the one that usually trades in his wife on a new one when she gets like that? Or am I thinking of a different member? :D

And being that I live in Ohio...
I also like trading 'em in before reaching the
10 years ownership-period. :D
