Cold weather detailing

How cold is too cold to: Waterless wash or rinseless wash? From a product performance point of view. TIA

Today was 5 degrees, to me that's too cold.

I typically only wash (rinseless) if the temps are near freezing. Anything below 32F and I won't mess with it. I've had several times where a thin sheet of ice will begin to form on the car as I am drying, and that is just no fun.

You've probably already figured out that using warm water makes cleaning much easier, too. Even in warmer weather, I always use warm water in my ONR bucket & spray bottle.

I'm like Zach, much colder than 32 and it's just not feasible unless your indoors. Around here the roads are covered with red cinders (crushed lava rock) to help deal with the snow, so pretty much every car is covered with those same cinders. Close to impossible to do a safe rinseless wash with straight rocks covering the car, so I pretty much just do interiors until I can get indoors to wash.

Warm/hot water is vital for cleaning and keeping the hands from freezing.

If ice starts to form before wiping, I think its too cold. Hot/warm water is definitely the way to go.
