It gave an https link but I didn't click on it, I went directly to my PayPal and logged in and it didn't say anything about updating. Scam? If so, how with the https link?

its definately a scam, always go to paypal and log in if theres a problem there will be a message in the account. They probably mask the link somehow.

Paypal will always address you by your name.....Like Dear Surfer..these scams get people to update on a Phish site and then the people use your account ....

But as jason said...when you get these log on and if there is a alert you will see it in your account....

It's phishing for your info man. Unless you see something when you log in, never trust those emails. I've never gotten a legitimate email from paypal asking for that stuff.

Yeh I get them all the time and I could see they were scams right away as it would have some funky version of a paypal address that wasn't secure. This is pry the 1st I've seen with 'https", I get these from Ebay as well about updating my account.

I always go directly to them and not click on the links.
