I detailed my friend's Q5 today as a Christmas present (I'm not a pro - just doing this for relaxation). The car had some nice swirls from whatever car wash he's been taking it to, but the worst part was the exhaust tips. Here's the a pic of the exhaust tip and swirls before I started. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/12/24edee2fc0b41ad5c2703216dd3a3b61.jpg

The exhaust threw me for a loop. I hit it with an APC and it didn't do much of anything. I honestly couldn't remember if they were chrome or black/grey to begin with. I dug through my cabinet and found an old container of Mothers aluminum polish from back when I had a motorcycle. I added a little water to it to make a paste and voila. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/12/25626297b55908c148eb4d7d40032198.jpg

I did the rest of the card with HD Speed on a black microfiber pad and topped it with HD poxy for a little extra protection. The color looked awesome when done.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

A couple weeks ago I tried Speed for the first time on my Silver Mustang. I loved how it looked after the speed, but then topped it with Colonite 915 which seemed to take away some of the "wow" factor. I picked up Poxy during one of the cyber buster sales and have been dying to try the combo. I was real happy with the results as the car looked as good if not better once I applied the poxy. It will be interesting to see how it holds up and also how it beads.

2 questions.
1) Where do you live and 2) want to be my friend?
Lol

Which mf pad did you use?

I had awesome results from using a BOSS mf pad with speed.

1). Orlando Florida 2) depends what you drive [emoji1]. My wife has a pearl white Suv and my car is silver so I do friends vehicles for practice and since I get bored working on our cars (and they are usually pretty spotless).

Someone that lives near me has a pearl black Ferrari 599 that they use as a daily driver. I see the car at the grocery store every now and then and it's always hammered. If I ever run into the owner, I'm going to offer to detail it for him just so I can have it in my driveway for a few hours.

I used the buff and shine microfiber finishing pad. I probably could have used something a little more aggressive on the Q5 but I'm still a little green at this and don't want to take any chances.
