Well, business has been great recently. I've been getting a lot of referrals from a used Volvo dealer. I also found out an old friend is a manager at a body shop so he's sending referrals to me or having me do them for customers while they have other work done. Needless to say it's been the busiest year to date and I'm grateful. So here's some of my work since my last post.

If any of you are also on FB and also wouldn't mind giving my business page a Like, I'd appreciate it. www.facebook.com/OKC.Headlights

Beautiful work, just curious what you are sealing or coating them with. And also how many months are you seeing before hazing starts again.

wow, how can anyone not be thrilled with results like that. excellent job!

what was your process on most of those (machine(s), paper grit, liquids, and protection?

I have the same question as Chris. I was going to do the lights on my Silverado but they had water inside and I purchased new drive, park, and fogs with sockets and bulbs for only $102.00 from E-Bay. I am going to do my dump truck and look forward to hearing advice from a pro. And they do look like OKC has mastered this trade.

I've been using Opti-Lens exclusively but considering matching something up against it in a durability test. Failure of the Opti-Lens will really depend on how it's washed and exposed to sun. Unfortunately, the cars I've coated have not returned. I applied it to my car but it ended up totaled in an accident years ago. You should get a couple of years out of it though.

Thank you! Customers get pretty stoked when I'm able to salvage them.

Most of the time 800 grit is enough to start with by hand then work up to 3000. Then DA with WG TSR and put on the OL. The Nissan Titan and Volvo lenses needed some really tough love and can be a total nightmare if it's your 1st set or don't have the right materials.

Thanks. Surely those are aftermarket so I would definitely watch those for oxidation since the UV coating may not be a durable as the factory stuff.

I use Dlux but did not know if opti-lens was better or not. I read mix reviews but I guess that goes for anything.

Fantastic work, OP!

Those lenses were BAD before you got there - and you made them TONS better.

Wow, you do fabulous work.
You mentioned starting with 800 and finishing with 3000. What other grits do you use in between? Also about how many sets can you coat with one syringe of OL?
Thanks.

You can go 1200, 2000 then 3000. You can safely double grades.

For Opti-Lens applications, a 10mL syringe can yield about 8-10 sets if doing 1 coat.
