Not sure if this is the correct spot but I am in need of some professional guidance.

I have followed step by step instructions on polishing. Done it many times on friends vehicles and never had any issues.

My steps
Wash
Dry (correctly)
Clay
Then buff
Wax

I'm using a grits garage DA with Lake County pads and maguire 205 polish.
Nothing was wrong the first time I polished but now I'm having issues.

Using a pink then green pad

Yet they keep getting worse.

What kind of towels are you using? From what I can see they look like toweling mark more than holograms

If you're fighting the halograms and just not making any progress by altering your technique and/or products you can always finish it down by hand. Most of the time light halograms are fairly easy to remove by hand polishing.

Although hand polishing is generally frowned upon on this forum, I believe that there are places for it. And you just might have found one.

Wish I knew someone around the area that was more experienced. Its really strange. Another thought I had was the fact I just clay bar and don't use any pre cleaner.

Where are you located?

Pink and green pads: what does manufacturer state their use? Polish and light polish?

Lake County states pink is heavy polish and green light polish. Located in Massachusetts

Things to try off the top of my head. (Be warned, I'm not a pro so this is based on much reading)

Use a black pad if you have them

Are you dry buffing?

What speed are you buffing at? Try polishing at a lower speed.

How much pressure are you using? You may need more or less.

Make sure your pads are clean. Also, clean them often.

Maybe try another polish.

Like was said before, try new mf towels. You may be seeing marring you're causing. This is my vote at the moment.

Is EVERYTHING the same as when you did it before and everything worked well? This only applies if it was the same car. Each vehicle is a rule unto itself.

Do all panels act like this? Anything been repainted?

Try doing less passes. With your least aggressive combo. It maybe that you're loading the pad with residue from a soft paint by over working.

That's all I got.
