Rupes LHR 21ES Big Foot Random Orbital Polisher (http://www.autogeek.net/rupes-lhr-21es-big-foot-polisher.html)

Ohhhh darn. I really want to get a Rupes and I wanted the new Mk2 but man this is a good deal. I spend every day using a rotary but would love to have/try a Rupes for finishing work, not to buff out sanding scratches (1000/1500/2000). What's every ones opinion, wait or pull the trigger? What's anyone else going to do?

I was going back and forth on whether to get the Rupes since I'm in the market again for a new DA.... but at the end of the day I replaced my Flex 3401 with...... drum roll.....another 3401. I'm sure the 21 is a nice buffer but I had to stay with the forced rotation.

Call them, more than likely they will give you a discount on the Mark II.

Well I will be doing all my cutting with a rotary, that will never change for me. My biggest problem is holograms (more time consuming to remove/prevent with the rotary)

I think they closed at 9pm. Why would they discount something they don't even have yet?

Doesn't "random orbital" and "dual action" mean the same thing? Or do you mean a DA sander?

Use the rotary to cut then do your finishing work with a dual action polisher.a 400 .00 dollar da will do the same as a 200.00 da.

Like a PC or Meguiars? Are your saying the main reason a Flex or Rupes costs so much more is mainly for their cutting abilities?

possibly ,I'm not a got to have a rupes or the next big thing guy,I use what I got such as a pc and do the biggest most challenging jobs and get them done ,so I would rather have the money in the bank and just buy what will do the job but that's me and it's your money so you do or get what you want.

Such a great deal. Too bad I missed up on it. Can't wait to get hold on my own bigfoot one day! :-)

The Flex and the Rupes are smoother running machines. I had a Meguiars G110 v2 that would make your are numb from vibration in about 5 minutes. I don't think you would be happy at all with a PC going from a rotary. IMO the Flex 3401 would be your best choice, plenty of power and the forced rotation would be your easiest transition. Again, just my .02

I would grab the pink flex 3401 for 299.

Being efficient on a rotary, I think you'd feel more comfortable with the forced rotation.
