anyone ever tried using rain water for a low or no spot rinse? We use our rain barrel for gardening but I'm thinking of trying this on my older black pick up truck. Anyone ever tried it?

I often wash my van in the rain for this reason. Once its washed I put it into the garage and dry it. Never have any watersports. It's great.

I wouldn't recommend it if you live in a high pollution area though.

Helps if its warm out too.

I know my neighbors are having a laugh at my expense when they see me foaming and washing during a shower.

We have a rain barrel for watering flowers too. However, lots of bugs, gunk, and even the little pebbles off the asphalt shingles end up in the 55 gal drum. Works for flowers - not sure about automotive paint.
