A few months ago I did a full correction on my brothers car. I posted that in the following thread as well as final updates.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/90494-2003-pontiac-grand-prix-ameriseal-ameriwax.html

It was time to move on to the next level of protection with a coating. He was intrigued by it and decided to have that applied.

I did not take to many before photos. He did a good job in maintaining it. He was not looking to have a show car finish as this is his daily driver.

Here's a video of the initial pass I made with a polishing pad and some M205. A few more passes left the surface in very good shape for the next polishing step using Menzerna SF3800.

50/50 on the pillars using M205 on a 3" Lake Country Tangerine Hydrotech pad.

The hood is not OEM and thus the paint is not OEM. It is on the hard side and my test spot with M205 on a DFP5 thin yellow polishing pad was not giving me the result I wanted. I moved to a DFC5 thin burgundy pad with some M100. It did finish LSP ready. I followed up with M205 on a DFP5 polishing pad followed by a final step of Menzerna SF3800 on a DFF5 thin black finishing pad.

The remainder of the car was a 2 step with M205 and SF3800. The car was then coated with Ameriarmour.

A couple photos as soon as I pulled it out of the garage.

We ended up taking a ride to another place to take a few photos. This is the location for the old CSI Miami TV show headquarters.

So the car looks so good that it turns the surrounding foliage into beautiful palm trees just like the tv show CSI Miami? I might've misread that part as I was too busy looking at the beautiful results in the pictures. 2 Thumbs up!

Looks great. I'm a big fan of that generation Grand Prix. Always had a thing for those gtp models.

Awesome work.

I know it's a completely different environment, but pontiacs of that vintage are pretty much all rust heaps around here due to winter salting, those that aren't, have some degree of CC failure. Really cool to see one in such good shape.

That's the same here. 95% of them are super rotted from salt around me.

Very nice work.

Yep, well kept late model Pontiacs are becoming more rare by the day.

Thanks guys.

You are all correct that these tend to ruse out in snowy areas. No issue there. Clear coat failure is common especially on the bumpers. This one doesn't have any yet. Mine does on the rear bumper.

Car looks awesome! That is RED!

My wife had an '00 GTP,and we loved it. The clear coat failed on the spoiler though. Her '09 G8 GT has already done the same thing. It is a common issue with the G8,but still embarassing and aggravating.

Thanks. That sucks to hear about the G8. I have always liked them myself.

You are right about that lol. Thanks. I saw his car the other day and the coating is holding up very well after 1 month. We gave it a rinseless wash with D114 and a wipedown with Meguiar's M34. His car looks great.
