Hi guys. Winter is coming already in Canada and I'm wondering what's the safest way to clean off snow from the car without scratching it?

If it's light fluffy snow, a leaf blower works well. I do mine before I blow off my little driveway.

If it's wet, heavy, and built up I'll use my forearm and try to sheet the whole pannel off. Although this may drag any dirt that is on the paint along for the ride.

A good LSP will help too

I have used a Snowbrum for the last 6 or 7 years. They sell them here at autogeek. Not sure how much they scratch or if they do at all. I will find out this winter as I now have my first black car.

blower.

or...since i have temp controlled water....i'll use that if the snow is wet/heavy. it will basically cut through it with the water and flood it so it just slides off. downside is it makes one hell of a mess on the ground in terms of ice but it's ok in my situation since it's only in the immediate area of the car. no danger.

I'll wipe it off with 1 of my drying towels , but not down to the metal. I just leave a thin layer for the sun or engine heat. Of course having a good lsp on the car.

If it's the light fluffy stuff, I use the snow joe
Snow Joe Telescoping Snow Broom (http://www.autogeek.net/snow-joe-snow-broom-tool.html)

I don't brush the surface, rather, I leave about 3/8" skim of snow on the car. The sun hitting the sheet metal will dispatch of that quickly. This way, I'm never dragging media across the paint.

If it's the wet heavy stuff, usually a good push of the snow will move a huge block off the surface.

Or, you could forgo and just leave it :)
