I haven't seen a vacuum thread in a long time. And whether you like it or not [I happen to really like it] vacuuming the interior of a vehicle is something we all have to do. So what kind of vacuum do you use?

Do you like your vacuum? Are you looking to upgrade soon?

This is the vacuum I use. 6hp 14 gallon Ridgid. I bought it when it came with the car detailing kit and I've also bought a few attachments to try to optimize it's efficiency. I bought the muffler/air diffuser, large 2.5" crevice tool, 2.5" upholstery tool, blower wand [which I use to sweep the patio] and horsehair interior brush [which I've officially lost and about to order another 1]

I hate to admit this but I recently purchased a Black and Decker pav1200w. Its actually a good little personal vacuum. The suction it good enough for some of the larger items like leaves and pebbles but I also use compressed air for lint and hair. The PAD1200 is probably nice to. Just nice to keep in the car and has a really long chord.

Quality vacuuming, just like getting a mirror shine, is the result of proper prep

A Cyclo Carpet Brush on my old PC cuts the time required in half and yields a superior result

I bought the fancy stainless steel shop vac here on Ag about two years ago. I hate it . It doesn't seem to have much power . I want to upgrade. I probably will one day.

Why are you ashamed to admit it? Is it really expensive?

Can I see a picture of the cyclo brush you use? So you just use it dry prior to vacuuming eh? Kicks up a bunch of dust in a good way?

I won the DP vacuum on here a few months ago and I like it. Works well for me, and is a whole lot better than the old rigid one I'd been using

SHOP VAC. 1/2 GALLON. Got some age but works perfect. I also use it to blow dry a freshly degresed engine before using sonus motor kote.

Yes. Seems like plenty but it really lacks in suction power.

What size is the hose diameter? Mine is 2.5" and I also have the hose that came with the car detailing kit that alot of people rave about..

But IMO it's bitersweet, because while it feels great to use [nice and flexible] and 3' longer than the standard supplied hose, it's diameter is only 1.25" and using it really throttles down the suction power in comparison to the 2.5" hose... Plus the original 2.5" attachments that came with the vac cannot connect to the orange hose. So I pretty much never use the orange hose.

I have the Shop-Vac 14-Gallon 5.5-Peak-HP. Does well and great suction. I run the good filter and bag in it. No dust comes out the exhaust port.
