This is a short review of CarPro's Essence: Extreme Gloss. First let me say dealing with Cory Carruth at corey@carpro-us.com has been a great experience! The car I worked on is a 2011 Porsche Turbo in Platinum Silver. The paint was in very good condition and had 22PLE applied 18 months ago. I started with a wash of Chemical Guys Citrus Wash followed by CarPro IRON X. THE PAINT DID NOT REQUIRE CLAY.

I applied CarPro Essence with a microfiber pad. The results were nothing short of amazing. Depth, shine, smoothness; medium defects were removed with 2-3 passes. This was followed with a CarPro Gloss pad. Again, amazing!!! I've used $$$ in products, pad, etc. and nothing has come close to what CarPro has provided in the form of Essence. I am so pleased. Easy on and very easy off. I will be coating the turbo with CQuartz tomorrow. I'll post more then.

Cool review! Couple questions. I take it you were using a microfiber cutting pad? What machine were you using?

Essence seems like the new must have product. Seems like Carpro hit a home run!

Looks great!

Next Friday I'm set to do a red golf R with essence and cquk. The more threads I see about essence, the more anxious I am to use it!

I used a Flex XC 3401 VRG with a Meguiar's DA Microfiber Cutting Disc Buffing Pad prior to switching to a CarPro Gloss Pad.

Excellent review! That car is gorgeous.

I have a couple questions regarding essence. I sounds like you used only essence for cutting and polishing. How do you feel it did against other popular compounds in that regard?

Also, from a money making perspective, would you routinely recommend essence for both steps? Reason I ask is because essence on Corey's site is $70/L versus $47/L for FG400 or $32/L for HD cut from AG.

Let me start by saying I'm not a professional detailer (I'm a physician). This is a hobby of mine. I routinely detail my cars (the turbo is mine) and my buddy's cars (I'll be doing his 991 GT3RS today with Essence after I pick it up from Porsche.

I've used most of the Menzerna and Meguiar polishing products. As far as application and removal I feel Essence is head-and-shoulders above (little to no dust). I was able to correct some minor defects with a cutting MF pad and immediately switch over to a finishing pad using the same product: I finished my car in 1.5 hours (this usual would take me 3-4 hours). The time I spent and the quality it produced has sold me on this product.

I added up the products I currently own for detailing and it came to $2300. The polishes and sealants I own were $500 of the $2300. While Essence will not replace Megs 105 for cutting it will replace most all the other polishes I own.

I do not know how Essence will cut with a wool or Surbuf pad. If these combos work well we may need only 1 or 2 polishes in our arsenal.

I really hope this helps. Again, please know that I don't detail for a living and my information is based on my intermediate skill level, not a professional level. Some input form the professionals on Essence would be the best source.

Nice job Doc. Since you did not coat in the same day, did you wipe down with anything before applying CQuartz? Did you use Quartz Classic, CQuartz UK or Quartz Finest?

Again it used on a maintained car.lets see it on a dirty neglected car, correct me if I'm wrong I'm under the impression that this is a quick aio Polish or compound that will improve a finish with less time and great protection .

It's an AIO, never meant to correct bad paint. Fills light swirls and acts like a primer for CQuartz if you choose to top it.
