We are getting ready to purchase our second go around of products. Thefirst time we purchased all Meguiars Professional Products. Whilesome met our expectations a lot of the did NOT.


So I'm curious to see what everyone's "GO TO PRODUCTS"are? We are looking for stuff that actually works and saves time!

Car Soap: Optimum Car Wash or Megs Hyper Wash
Polish: M205, Opt Hyper Polish
AIO Polish: HD Speed, D151
Wax: FK1000P(most agree its a sealant, but meh) but I use Powerlock, BFWD, and others pretty often
Spray Wax: DG Aquawax
Detail Spray: Ultima Waterless Wash
Glass Cleaner: D120
Wheel Cleaner: Sonax FE
Tire Shine: PERL
Trim/Plastic: PERL
Interior Detailer: D114 for quick wipedowns
Interior Cleaner: DP APC
Upholstery Cleaner: DP APC

Car Soap: Meg's Hyperwash
Polish: I probably have 10 different compounds and polishes. Each has their place.
AIO Polish: Blackfire AIO or Megs PRC. Both have their place.
Wax: I don't generally use wax. Sealants usually. If I do use a wax Adam's Patriot, or Wolfgang Fusion.
Spray Wax: D156, Reload
Detail Spray: M34, D155 @1:1 for clay lube, M135, D114 for a coated car.
Glass Cleaner: Sprayaway, D120
Wheel Cleaner: Adam's DWC, Megs Non-acid wheel and tire cleaner
Tire Shine: Depends on my mood. been liking Blackfire tire gel lately.
Trim/Plastic: Blackfire trim sealant, DLUX, Megs D163, Adam's SVRT, Meg's Ultimate Black, Meg's M40, Hyper dressing. Depends on what I am doing and what car it is.
Interior Detailier: Adam's TID, Megs quik interior detailer.
Interior Cleaner: D101 @10:1
Upholstery Cleaner: Steamer, APC, Extractor

Car Soap: chemical guys soaps are good and affordable
Polish: depends on the cut u need and the cars paint hardness but menzerna fg400 is a crowd favorite.... Megs Ultimate compound is also good and OTC
AIO Polish: HD Speed
Wax: fk1000 or any collinite wax
Sealant: Sonax polymer Netshield, Wolfgang 3.0, Optiseal or UPGP
Spray Wax: d156 or aquawax or Prima hydro max for something with longevity
Detail Spray: Ultima
Glass Cleaner: d120 or I've done a 15% ISO to distilled water with great results
Wheel Cleaner: megs APC
Tire Shine: chemical guys silk shine
Trim/Plastic: silk shine
Interior Detailier: Adams TID
Interior Cleaner:megs APC
Upholstery Cleaner:megs APC

Detail Spray: any waterless wash diluted works great

Wax: Don't have a favorite, just whatever I pull off the shelf that day
Spray Wax: Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax
Detail Spray: Adam's Detail Spray
Glass Cleaner: Adam's or Wolfgang Perfekt Vision
Wheel Cleaner: Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner or soap and water depending on the wheels
Tire Shine: Turtle Wax Jet Black Black Endura Shine Tire Coat or SmartWax Smart Dressing
Trim/Plastic: Adam's SVRT
Interior Detailier: So far I've hated everyone that I've tried.

I'm transitioning from waxing all my vehicles to the world of coatings. As this plays out, my product choices will change. Based on past history here is my list.

Car Soap: Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo
Polish: Depends on the vehicle and the paint
Wax: Collinite 845
Spray Wax: Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax
Detail Spray: Meguiars Quik detailer...the cheap stuff in the maroon bottle
Glass Cleaner: Sprayway
Wheel Cleaner: Mothers Foaming Tire and Wheel Cleaner
Tire Shine: Duragloss #253
Trim/Plastic: Blackfire Trim and Tire Sealant
Interior Detailier: 303
Interior Cleaner: Poorboys APC
Upholstery Cleaner: Poorboys APC

Polish: Fg 400, 3m ultrafine
AIO Polish: Meg's da microfiber finishing wax
Wax: Dodo Juice Blue Velvet (been my go to for 3+ years now)
Spray Wax: Megs 156
Detail Spray: Either Megs 114 or 156
Glass Cleaner: Megs 114, 120 or Auto Finesse Crystal
Wheel Cleaner: Megs 101 or 108
Tire Shine: Chemical guys VRP
Trim/Plastic: exterior Dlux interior PERL (for dressing, moving more towards 156)
Interior Detailier: 156 for a light cleaning
Interior Cleaner: Megs 114 for light cleaning 101 for heavier cleaning
Upholstery Cleaner: Megs 101 or 108

I was going to do like Bob did and list all the Meguiars Detailer line products. But found it funny that almost everyone here has at least one Detailer product and the OP thinks they dont work. That is a great line and maybe we can help you figure out why they arent working for you instead of you going away from a product that is inexpensive and quality.

@dcjredline, When I first started detailing, it was at the body shop I'm a manager at now, and we used and I hated the detailer line. I thought there had to be superior products out there. Over time what I learned was the tools (rags, brushes etc) we had to use were inferior and that the products were pretty good. As an example, it is hard to get glass clean with dirty microfibers, I thought it was the cleaners fault not the rag.

Car Soap: Megs Hyper Wash. No contest.
Polish: Menzerna FG400 / 4500 finish
AIO Polish: n/a. 4500 and JB gives a better result than any AIO IMO.
Wax: n/a
Spray Wax: Garry Dean's Juice Boost
Detail Spray: Diluted Infinite Use Detail Juice
Glass Cleaner: Armor All. Yes, I know but it works so well..
Wheel Cleaner: Meg's Wheel Brightener, DUB for non-acid rims.
Tire Shine: Garry Dean's Transform Dressing
Trim/Plastic: Meguiar's All Season Dressing
Interior Detailier: Meg's Total Interior
Interior Cleaner:DP APC 10:1
Upholstery Cleaner: DP APC 10:1. 5:1 for tough spots.
