The previous owner of my car has left a plastic object stuck to the front windshield. The object is held on by a huge chunk of adhesive and no amount of pulling seems to remove it.

looking at the cheapest and easiest way to remove this but not sure what that might be. I originally thought heat gun and scraper but thought that might crack the glass.

Any suggestions ?

A scraper/razor blade and a Goof Off/Goo Gone may be a good place to start.

Rather than using a heat gun, simply parking the vehicle where the area gets the full blast of sun might heat it up enough to soften the adhesive goo.

Cheap and easy way.. Aerosol glass cleaner and a razor blade. Spray the adhesive with the glass cleaner leave it for about 15 seconds should soften up to the point where you scrape away. I like to work the edges and push everything into the middle. If there's still trace amounts of glue left follow up with adhesive remover of your choice.

Does it have to be spray or will any glass cleaner do ?

Warm the area with a heat gun or blow dryer, only need a few seconds of heat and it will make scraping easier.

If it's small area and you can tolerate the odor, Lil splash of ol 87 octane on a rag makes quick work of glue. I'd be a little nervous on the windshield but depending on your blood pressure, could be necessary.
