What one step?

Which one step should I buy? I think I might of already made this thread before but I can't figure out how to check to see if I did. I'm detailing my grandma's 2012 Cadillac SRX in a few days. I'm going to be washing it, using a nanoskin fine grade sponge on it, and then doing the one step with a DA polisher from HF.

Also, when I wash cars, do I have to fill up my 5 gallon buckets all the way and then use 2.5 ounces (.5 ounces per gallon) of my car wash solution for one car? Is it "one size fits all" or are there different amounts you should go with to not waste solution? Like for smaller cars to trucks to SUVs etc.

Also, how do you guys put a liquid cleaner in a seperate container without spilling it? Like if I just want to put 1 ounce of it in a cup how do you pour it slow enough to only put 1 ounce but fast enough to not spill it down the bottle?

I never used Menzerna, but the previous member convinced me when I started new to all this to try HD speed... I am extremely satisfied with the results I have been getting. In case you haven't seen this yet, I HD speed this in the recent month.37963
And I tested speed on my own car about ten days ago37964

If you're concerned about spillage, you can use a funnel. Car wash solution is so cheap compared to other products I use, I haven't worried about using slightly more. AG also sells 1oz measuring cups.

FG400 is a Compound not an AIO.

My go to always seems to be XMT360 but I have yet to try Speed or the Menz products.

Anyone try Griots Boss Finishing Sealent as an AIO yet? Interested to see if it measures up to speed. This weekend I think I'll do a 1/2 1/2 hood using both products and see.

Based--Have you replaced the 6" HF backing plate with a quality 5" backing plate so you can use 5 or 5.5" pads? And, have you purchased some quality pads? The stock HF BP is known to have a bad wobble and their 6" pads shread in a heart beat.

With Speed don't forget less is more---4-5 pea sized drops to prime the pad, then 2-3 for each additional section. Also, the cut of Speed is pad dependent--on harder paints an orange cutting pad will do a great job and finish great. After you've done your test spot and know your technique I've found if you do the whole car and then wipe off the Speed you'll get better durability. Also, you can always give the car a coat of HD Express Wax (spray) or Poxy for some additional protection.
