Guys! I really don't know what went wrong..The night before I was testing my newly arrived MT300. It had a good smooth start speed. The next day I was going to do it on a customer's car when suddenly it has no smooth start anymore. It jump straight up to max speed. Is it broken? Only touched a car hood with it last night.

You're not the first to have a problem with the MT300. The power cord on mine went out after 4 uses. I have a thread on here documenting that. Yours sounds like something different. Send it back or call Meguair's.

I wish my soft start would break... That is one feature I'd rather do without. There are times when I like to trigger the switch to control the speed and with the soft start you can't do that.

Mt300 is overpriced give it back while you can fork up the extra 160 and get a flex, boss or rupes.

Those machines can take you to unreal heights

one thing to consider is if you only use it a few times a year, then the GG6 (lifetime warranty) would be a better option since the mt300 only comes with a year warranty...

they have had this same power cord issue for years now. If you get another one the problem may not arise again until it's out of warranty. I agree with the recommendations above for a different machine.

I'm unsure If I could get another machine soon. But at the moment I just hope the MT300 doesn't broke any worse.

I am a hobbyist ( weekend detailer )I settled on Griots GG6. I sold or traded my other polishers.
