Getting ready to do an application this weekend on a new Lincoln. Directions say to clean and remove oils before application. I have Zep citrius DP leather and vinyl cleaner and ONR. Anyone have suggestions on the best way to clean before application?

If brand new, simply giving a good wipe with a damp MF to ensure there is no surface dirt from initial use should be fine. Shouldn't be a need for any kind of deeper leather cleaning in this case.

I did this on my 1 week old X4 and my cQuartz Leather application was fine.

I think they have had it about a month so I'll aggressively clean it with a damp mf cloth. ☺

Any review from using this? I have a new tundra with leather and am thinking of doing something like this also

low pile MF and Power Clean at 5:1-10:1 and some elbow grease. then wipe with wrung damp mf (i keep a 5 gallon bucket filled with water right outside the door) to make sure you remove all the cleaner. that will assure it's squeaky clean. you never know what the dealer might or might not have put on it during prep.

I'll be applying it this weekend, look for my Lincoln detail write up I'll do.

I applied it to my daily driver about 2 months age. It repels water great. A light apc cleaning will remove it. I have a dark grey leather so who's knows how dirty it is. But I cleaned it for the first time last week with water and it looks great.

When I did my truck I steamed the leather twice with no cleaners to make sure it was pure.

I hope a light apc cleaning won't remove this coating.

I used APC and then the leather masters cleaner. The LM products are great.

That's crazy since it's marketed as a semi permanent coating!

CQ Leather does have durability against diluted APC, but you need to thoroughly apply it deep into the leather pores , two layers even, and not to use any strong cleaner on it for at least a week. water clean or damp MF will be enough to clean dirt from the surface, or even our Eraser oil remover cleaner.
