I recommend Buff and Shine. The new Griots Boss pads work well on the GG6 according to Griots.

New Meguiar's Burgundy Foam Cutting Discs or Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting Discs.

You'll be BLOWN away at how well the new Meg's foam cutting discs finish!

I would also recommend 5" size THIN pads for your GG6 to maximize the machines rotation/correction ability.

Could I use those with the standard 6.5 plate?

NO! You need a "5 backing plate for 5" or 5.5" pads.

If you use a larger backing plate than pad, the plate will be sticking out further than the pad and WILL damage your paint!

Get the 5.5" backing plate from LC and either use the Orange flat, from LC again or the McGuiars MF cutting pad for cutting.
I like the black LC for finishing up. Good luck and take care.

Hey fejcharson,

I know I work for Griot's Garage, and developed the pads. Aside from that, I also contributed to the development of Meguiar's DA Micro Fiber System as well.

There are two pads that will blow your mind-

BOSS FAST Correcting Foam Pad (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-boss-foam-microfiber-pads-6-inch.html)- combine with whatever compound you prefer...
Insane pad rotation
Cuts exceptionally well
Finishes better than any microfiber pad

Micro Fiber FAST Cutting Pad (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-microfiber-pad.html)
No foam to delaminate or tear
10mm micro fiber provides good contouring to body panels
exceptionally durable...probably too durable
Cuts exceptionally well, and finishes nice with minimal micro marring.
Machine Washable

I personally guarantee you'll love these pads for correcting.

Thanks Brownie,

I'll give those a shot my self. We're always searching.
Take care.

fejcarson-- You'll save the cost of a 5" backing plate in no time with the money you'll save on 5.5" pads vs 6.5" pads not to mention that they will be more effective and easier to control as mentioned by others.

I've been using B&S 5.5" FLAT pads for 5 years with my GG6 and have had fantastic results with the orange medium cutting pad which also finishes very well. Never had a pad fail or have the Velcro separate--just great pads.

Make sure you get enough pads--trying to do an entire car with one or two pads per step is a road to failure. Here's an article by Mike Phillips that addresses the subject: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/88109-how-many-pads-do-i-need-buff-out-my-car.html

Thanks you all I think I'm going to get the 5" backing plate. I guess from Lake country get the 5.5 pads from one of those companies. I will take a look. Thanks all.

Definitely get the 5 inch plate. I did and it made a huge difference. I use 5.5" LC Hydro-Tech pads and they work great.

Everything he says is 100% true. The whole entire BOSS system is unreal.

There is nothing that won't blow you away.

From the creams, pads, and machine.

The fast correcting and correcting pad are my go to's for one steps and I get amazing results sometimes I get in the 80% correction number with a one step.
