Depends of a few factors. Is this for personal use, weekend warrior/ part time use etc.

If this is for personal use it is more then enough to keep your cars the way you would want them to be.

Here on Autogeek on their store site they have a Porter cable at a cheaper price. They also have a Griots cheaper price..

You will find different opinions on which to get.
First is what you want to accomplish on your car.
You using on just your cars.
How much you want to spend.

This can be a difficult decision to make do your research and people here on AutoGeek will help with their input.

For me and the $185.00 I would get the Griots. This is coming from a weekend detailer who has gone thru a couple DA`s

Good Luck

I have the PC7424XP. I bought one of the kits from AGO. One of the best purchases I have made. Get that or the GG6. Either way, you will not be disappointed!

+1 GG6"

Powerful polisher for cheap price
also life time warranty.

I think GG6" is great for personal use and occasional money job.

+2 or 3 or whatever we're up to on the GG. More torque than the PC. With a 5" backing plate and 5.5 or 5" pads there isn't anything it can't handle with the right pad and polish and it has a Lifetime Warranty.

See post #3 by Mike Phillips here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/porter-cable-7424xp-updates/93264-g110.html#post1300203

From Mike's post: "The Griot's 6" DA Polisher is the Griot's version of a Porter Cable polisher and just as capable as the PC and actually has more power. Most people in the forum world prefer the Griot's to the PC.

The PC weighs around 5 pounds. All of the other tools weigh in at 5 pounds or more so there's really no tool option that's lighter than 5 pounds.

If all you're detailing are you're own cars then I'd recommend going with the Griot's Garage 6" DA Polisher and get a 5" backing plate and then get 5.5" foam pads.

Meguiar's 5.5" thin foam discs
Lake Country 5.5" foam flat pads
B&S 5.5" foam flat pads

The above plus good compounds, polishes and waxes can turn out show car finishes no problemo."

Go with the GG6 for more power or save for a Boss, Flex, or Rupes. I have a PC and my neighbor has a HF. IMO buying a PC isn't going to be much of an upgrade.

Your Harbor Freight DA has more power than the PC 7424xp.......go with the GG6 or save and upgrade to a G15 or G21.
