Up early and decided to get a jump on my pre winter prep. Pulled out my FK 1000 and after finishing noticed a couple of things about the can. After reading all the recent posts and seeing photos of the current FK 1000 can, mine sure didn't look like any of them. The other thing was my can is still almost full.

Now I know I've been using it for a while so I decided to do a little further research. Looks like I've been using it longer than I first thought. I purchased this can back in 2006. I only use FK 1000 once a year as my winter prep and apply 2 coats on both mine and the wife's car. I guess what I learned back in 2006 still apply's today - a little goes a long way.

The wax is still in fantastic shape even after 9 years. It hasn't dried out or cracked, is still soft as far as FK 1000 goes and is easy to apply and remove.

Great value in an excellent, protective, and long lasting wax.

Its tin does harken back to
a more simple aesthetic:
the feeling of time-proven; and,
timeless "Old World Constructon"

^^^:iagree:^^^

I'm not going to argue with
this kind of reassurance.

I have the same exact tin (also have the PW too). if I'm not mistaken, FK1 was basically the retail/internet side (re-branded labeling same products) and I remember talking to torrey a few times years ago about finish kare products and he was really nice, it's a shame his business side of things with FK closed down. the first product I tried from them was FK425 due to all the hype on Autopia (early 2000 or so with DavidB) and it lived up to it. FK425, FK1000p and Pink Wax are all great offerings...

Wow that brings back some memories. I joined Autopia back in 2003. I really liked the FK 2180 sealant topped with Pink Wax back then.

Nice looking ride VEGAS!

Thanks! My daily driver, 2006 G35X. Even after almost 10 years it's still so much fun to drive.

For some reason the smell never bothered me. But then again back in the day, pretty much anything you used had a chemical solvent smell to it.:wow:

I still used it a ton. My tin is almost empty. Big rvs really suck it up.
