This was a job from my neighbor, basically a business trade, he does lawns and snow removal on the side, and works at a factory in town where people have been talking about my detailing and coating work. I did a trade and asked him to make sure he shows people at work and I am getting my driveway done this winter! The vehicle is a 2014 GMC Sierra Denali HD in black, beautiful truck and a monster in size. I got it Friday night to start, since back surgery I have been going slower to make sure I don't mess myself up. Friday was a full wash, wheels, decon and speedy prep cleaning before it went into the garage for the night. The next morning I tried a few different ideas, actually settled on Menz 4000 on a white hybrid pad with a Rupes 21 for the bulk of th work. The lower panels were beaten a little more and I used a flex with a 5" pad and menz 2500. A spot on the hood got MF cutting pad with menz 400 to remove some scratches. Then followed up with the 2500 to remove the hazing. I must say this paint was sticky and took some work removing the 4000.
After the paint was polished it was wiped with prep-all and coated with Americana Americoat. Inside was cleaned and protected with 303 after a wipe with ONR.
Products used:
Megs wash, Americana Ameririd iron removal, speedy prep medium grade with ONR
Rupes 21 and Flex
White hybrid pads, one 3" MF cutting pad
Menz 400, 2500 and 4000
Tires were scrubbed, and scrubbed and scrubbed with Tuff Shine tire cleaner
Wheels where hit with SonaxFE, speed master and boarse hair brushes
Tires were coated with Black Pearl
Paint with Americana Americoat
I was done Saturday, but waited until Sunday to return it as he parks outside and I wanted to keep the dew off it overnight.

Here it was on arrival:

You may not be able to make it out, but there was still a faint mark left in the paint from the scratch:

Looks great. I did one of these(2015 I think) earlier this year and it was a beast! Noticed some pretty bad orange peel throughout it...

You are not kidding about the orange peel, it was terrible! I'm surprised you couldn't feel it due to the depth!

These manufacturers should be ashammed of themselves...asking for $50k-$70k for their trucks and the paint is HORRIBLE!
