Hey all, hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I wanted a little feedback to some questions, so I found the 101 forum right for the job.

So I had someone call me about a 2015 Ford Fusion. They said their baby had spilled some milk in the back seat. So I drove down to have a look. I was surprised. The car looked several years old inside, but the odometer was reading just over 10k miles. Well, I don't yet have an extractor so I decided to rent a good ol' rug doctor. The clients were friends so there wasn't any money involved.

My process was as follows:
Pretreat with Folex.

Extract. Oxy Clean was in the rinse container. I dumped three scoops in a 5 gallon bucket and filled it up to the top, mixed well and filled the rinse container with that.

Using the extractor, I made one pass with the trigger squeezed and then two to three passes with the vac only. Repeat until stains disappear.

Then I let the carpet/upholstery dry.

Lastly, after everything was dry the first time, I spot-treated remaining stains with Wolfgang Carpet and Upholstery Restorer.

Here are the results:
Rear driver seat before:

And after:

Front Passenger side:

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/500/frontpassfloorafter.JPG (http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/100057)

Front driver's side floor: (seat was ok, despite the rest of the inside)
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/500/frontdriverfloorb4.JPG (http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/100056)
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/500/frontdriverfloorafter.JPG (http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/100055)

Rear passenger side:
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/500/medium/rearpassseatb4.JPG

So my question is: Should I be discouraged at the results? How can I improve this process?

Thanks!

Usually what Ill do to save alot of time is vaccum everything out all at once. then work on stains and everything. Just so that there is no dirt while working.

I like folex as do alot here for carpets and seats. Works well and is cheap. Oxy clean is probably good too

Nice job, but spoiled milk can be a hassle to remove the odor. You will need to use an enzyme to completely kill the bacteria.
Wrong color seats to have with kids. A set of seat covers would help.

Ah I forgot to mention I did vacuum everything first :)

You know, I looked at a line of different fabric cleaners. Many said they contained enzymes, but did not specify. I was looking for protease, but couldn't find one that said explicitly that. And the few that said they contained enzymes and had a list of what they were for indicated they were for tannin stains. In the meantime, do you have any product recommendations?

You're right that is a bit off the wall, it must be nice to have cash like that just laying around the trunk, sheesh.
