New car + new detailing stuff = happytime:)

As said in another post i got a package from AG and that had some new goodies i was eager to try out, and as ive got a new car today it had to be tryed out asap.:D

Well the "test" dummy was the 2001 Renault Kangoo ive bought as a winter beater, and YES its RED, its actualy a old postoffice car..and they dont get much tlc

it had lots of stickers on it (stickers was removed by dealer with grinder or chainsaw i guess:applause:

Well that just makes the turnaround more fun imo

First off was the washing, and i used the Surf City grime destroyer again, and BOY is this some good stuff, i sprayed all the lower panels, inside door jams, easy to spray every where you want it, i didnt need to use a mitt on it cos it disolves the grit/grime very well..Then i used the foam lance with snowfoam and Duragloss RV/boat wash conc and soaked the car down, took 50 pushups and then HP the car good...Oh and P21s wheel gel on wheels (still ROCKs)

THEN it started to rain.....doh, so inside, get a jacket and out again to wash.

Second time i use it, and i still cant get used to the Ulti-mit, so ill let it rest and go back to the real deal imo Mr ShMitt or the wool mitt

THEN it stoped raining

The car got fairly clean, so i felt the paint and wasnt sure if i needed to clay it, paint did feel kinda smoth......but i ended up claying, OK i did need to clay it, here is a pic of the claybar after the roof:

Now over to paint correction, AND did this car need THAT!!!, the paint are in seriously bad condition after 6 years of bad washing and NO tlc at all, im sure the paint is thiner on this car cos of all the "sanding" it has seen in those years..

Wanted to try some differnt options, so the chosen ones was;:

TOOLS/PRODUCTS:

-PC
-Duragloss 501
-Menzerna 106
-Menzerna 115c
-Rotary polisher

PADS & COMBOS:

-White "free" AG pad (DG 501/PC)
-Orange "free" AG pad (Menz 106/PC)
-Yellow Meguiras pads (Menz 106/Rotary)
-Soft Autoglym 4" pad (Menz 115c/PC)

I wanted to see how much the Duragloss 501 cleaned the paint up, this car had as said been wearing stickers for 6 years, and that and poor washing def made a change in paint/colour, so i taped a area on the hood to try it out, DG 501 on one side and Menzerna 106 on the other side, i didnt have to "high" hopes regarding the DG 501 and white pad/PC comb cos the paint looked pretty bad, but i was kinda impressed with how nice it got the paint cleaned, it got red and glossy on both sides, and i had a hard time telling the difference with the DG 501/PC and 106/rotary:

One of the other stuff ive got in the last order was the Menzerna top inspection, and this truly is a great tool when detailing, after i went over the hood with the DG 501 one half and 106 the other half i wiped it down with this and EVERYTHING you missed showes with: red lights and a guy running around on the hood with a helmet, and saying in German "do again, do again, do again" So this is imo a must have if you detail car/s more than once a year....great detailing tool

So after that "shocker;)" i wanted to try the PC and Orange pad + Menz 106 on the same hood to see how that worked out. Well its like trhland say: WOW!!! this is a great combo and seriously easy to use, ive always said that i prefer the 106 with the rotary, but it did impress me totaly this time around (I will do the rest of the car with roatry and 106 or a heavyer comb cos its quicker, AND i had done half the hood with rotary/106 first, but its a g-o-o-d comb anyway)

ill say 90/95% swirl free, i need some heavyer cutting for a 100% flawless paint (and Pirex)

Then i added the Menz 115c with soft pad and PC, i know its a swirl "hider", but i wanted to try it out as a glaze under the wolfgang sealant..

LSP as said above, wolfgang sealant, and that must be one of the easyest sealants on the market to apply AND remove, its almost gone after it dryes up, and a a breeeeze to wipe off with a MF..

In the end i did the hood and one fender (106/rotary) just for fun, and the car gets a total detail one of the first days...

very nice!!!!! ya ive ntoiced after useing optimums polish that menzerna has a better cut. and it works so much faster then optimums polishes.and aslo menzerna polish you dont need to work it long at all i went like 3minute per panel and that took care of it

Wow it looks WAYYYY better, don't worry about getting everything out :). You made that postoffice car look good. That's a pretty unique car for a beater :D never seen anything like that here. The post office cars here are boxy.

I was a bit shocked whem you told me that you got a new car, though you sold the the Evo.
The car looks great mate! I guess you and Pirex is the "Breadcar" detailers:P

I remember, me and my family lent this in Greece.
