How to Tackle These Stains on Polished Wheels?

Hey guys, as the title says, I need help before my appointment with my client Friday.


They have a weird stains all over them and several scratches.


Where do you think these stains came from and how can I remove these scratches?


He sent me these photos on these polished wheels with these stains on them.

He says soap won't take it off. I'm thinking maybe a clay bar followed by iron-x? Idk guys I need help here without ruining this guys wheels. Thanks a lot...

My rims looked like that when I used a wheel cleaner on them. They aren't coat so it was bare aluminum and the chemical in the wheel cleaner left that dry soap in the sun affect. Polishing them with some mothers worked great and just had to hit the more stubborn parts a little harder. Cat urine will also leave the same kinds stains on unprotected mag/aluminum wheels

It appears it was an incorrect wheel cleaner, or (more likely) the correct wheel cleaner allowed to dry/dwell to long or used when the rim was hot.

They need polishing with an appropriate metal polish.

Ive had good luck using this on my weld racing alumn rims. Apply with cotton

Yep, just like everyone said: wheel cleaner or some chemical that dried or was 'too' aggressive was used previously.

Polish them up with a metal polish and you will be all set.

I like HD metal and have had excellent results with it, however, any 'good' metal polish will work.

Friday is coming up pretty quick so idk how fast you can get one of the products mentioned. But you can get the mothers polish In a small white can or the liquid in a red bottle that's used with the ( powerball) at the local Walmart so you got product by Friday. Powerball didn't work too goodfor me because my wheels are tiny and odd but the cone shaped drill attachment they sell looks like it would work great on those wheels. I use a glove and get some polish paste and rub the wheels with my fingers doing small areas until the paste gets dark/black then whipe it off with a rag. Once the whole wheel is done I go over it once more lightly with a rag to polish it and remove any extra polish I left behind. I'm not a pro and I'm sure there is abetter way of doing it but, I do it by hand because the product doesn't absorbe into and applicator and dry up as fast and needed to apply more product. I'm a beginner and I'm sure there is better ways of doing it. But I like doing it with the tips of my fingers so I can feel the polish break down and have more time to work the product instead of having my applicator/ cotton towel etc drying out the product

Yeah i have plenty of mother mag +aluminum polish sitting around.

Are those wheels actual 'bare' polished metal or polished metal with a clear coat?

I like the same stuff 2011 302 suggested. The OPT Metal polish has served me well.

He said they are weld wheels. They look like 302's picture only they are black in the center. But I don't know what state of polished they are.
