Well folks, it's been a while since I've posted some of my interior detailing antics, and this Ford Escape was a good place to start on some of my backlogged pictures from my interior projects.

To let anyone know ahead of time, I will take on basically any interior job, no matter how bad, as long as I think I can get a good result and get paid accordingly. I actually enjoy some of these bad interiors because the before and after pictures are rather amazing and the challenge is excellent.

This Ford Escape sat in a field for over a year. There was mouse poop everywhere, dirt, dust, and grim in every nook and cranny. It had a horrific smell that was a mixture of mold, musk, and mouse urine.

Before I even started on the detail I fogged the entire vehicle using the DrivePur system and SHOK to kill most of the bacteria and allergens. That being said, it was still a full respirator, double glove job.

Total detail time: 10 hours

My process was as follows:

DrivePur antibacterial treatment
Glove up, respirator up
Vacuum
Blow out nooks and crannies with compressed air
Vacuum again
Clean hard surfaces with Tornador Black and Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner
Clean all hard surfaces with Megs APC diluted 1:10, by spraying on surfaces then agitating with boar's hair brush
Pre-Treat carpet with Hydrox Encap carpet cleaning solution, diluted 1:4
Clean carpets with Tornador Black using Hydrox Encap 1:10
Extract Carpets using my Cleanfreak extractor
Repeat carpet cleaning process
Let dry, thoroughly vacuum
Clean headliner with Megs APC 1:10 by hand
DrivePur Heavy Odor Removal treatment
Dress interior with 303 Aerospace
Clean Glass 2x using Detailer's Pro Crystal Glass cleaner

And on to the pictures...
Fun..

Thanks! I Left them in. I only pull seats if it will make a big difference and if the customer is willing to pay significantly more.

Looks like it was never parked in a field for a year. After all the droppings and trash were removed and the interior extracted did that get rid of the horrible mouse stink?

But I wish there was a back story to this.
Why would anyone park a decent looking vehicle, undriven, in a field for a year?
I had a car parked in my back yard for almost ten years once. But it had something to do with the rod sticking out the side of the block. Plus it had absolutely nothing made of fabric inside of it anyway. So that heap had an excuse.
What was the Escapes?
