Have a customer that wants his 25 foot aluminum boat polished. I did a test spot and told him I would give him a call with a quote once I talked to my detailer friends.
He wants all the aluminum on the outside of the boat, besides the very bottom of the hull, polished to the degree of the test spot. One of his questions was how long will it stay like that in salt water. Any ideas?, I have limited experience with aluminum.
The test spot is a 6 inch wool pad on a flex 3401 with aluminum polish. I estimated 15-20 hours but I may be way off. Who here has polished aluminum boats? How much time would you estimate for this job?
I've tried uploading photos and it's not working. So here's an image from google of a similar boat. The aluminum hasn't ever been wetsanded and polished so it won't be a mirror but it does shine up pretty decent.
