I recently discovered brownish red spots all over my car. I can't determine if it is rail dust from a nearby rail line or because I parked under trees.

Here's some photos:

I washed using the two bucket method and they didn't come off. I also tried a little Isopropyl Alcohol and that didn't do much either. There is definitely a physical bump from these deposits.

I was considering using some Iron X and clay bar on it, and possibly some sort of polish. Any one seen anything like this? Any advice?

I would try the iron x...or Trix if you have it.

Stoners tarminator or some other type of bug, tar and sap remover. I have also used WD40 for things like this. It worked really well. Whatever you use, afterwards just rewash that area and top it off with wax or sealant. If they don't work, try a light polish.

Will easily remove with TarX or Tarminator...dont worry its above the surface.

Those specks look just like the rail dust I had all over my car. Iron-X got rid of every single speck. But some of them did require a second application.

I tried the Tarminator, and it did not appear to do very much. I will try Iron X next. Thanks all for the suggestions/input. I will continue to update this thread.

I've seen this before. It's rust from iron contamination. Iron-X will fix it.
