This job was exciting for me as it was the 1st of a few things. The 1st time I did an engine detail, believe it or not, and more importantly, the 1st job I did for a dealership..in this case the local Infiniti dealer. It was a used car they got in Toronto and their in-house detail guy was sick so I was asked to do it. We agreed on $300. which would normally equate to 12 hours of work. It actually took me 13 but I'm not complaining..I really hope this job leads to others from them. The car had multiple scratches on it; I think it had a lot of trips through the automatic car washes:eek:. This car was also the 1st time I tried ARO at full strength as well as diluted. I used it diluted on the convertible top and it did a great job..the crap that came rolling out of there..yuck. I also used it full strength on the wheels and behind the spokes. The wheels alone took almost an hour. I also used it diluted on the engine..cleaned up real nice. Used the leaf blower immediately afterwards. It was pretty funny..had 3 machines (2 rotaries and UDM) going at the same time..easier than switching pads!

The Process:
Wash
Engine with ARO
Convertible top with ARO
Wheels with ARO
Clay with claymagic
Multiple, multiple touch ups..lots of road rash.
Compound with Presta UCCL, wool pad, rotary
Polish with 106ff with white pad, rotary
Glaze with RMG with UDM
Sealed with FMJ
Topped with Collinite 476S
Tires with DG gloss (amazing stuff, that)
Engine dressed with 303
Exterior trim dressed with Mothers back to black
Leather, plastic dressed with 303
Door jams cleaned with Woolote/H2O 1:10 then treated with 303
Mats shampoo'd and stain removal with Folex
Vacuum interior
Glass with Stoners IG

Klum..thanks very much...I first tried those wide stripes a few details ago..I really like the look..as Austin Power would say: it's GROOVY BABY!! The crocs are great for washing the car...but not exactly the fashion trend setter now am I??LOL

Supercharged..Wow..what an amazing compliment..thank you so much..You guys have set the bar so high...I'm just trying to keep up. The more I use Menzerna, the more I love it. The UCCL definitely has a place in my arsenal too.

VERY good job :D I love how the car came out, just like a mirror :D Sweet! Love the big stripes.

Pirex..thanks for the compliment! Haven't you heard..big stripes are in fashion now..who knows, maybe bell bottoms will make a comeback!!:D

Gary..thanks very much. I was proud of how the engine came out. I was happy to see the weather co-operated for my signature shot..not looking forward to winter.

Al..thanks a bunch!! ARO and 303 are a potent combo for engine details.

Well done there richy, the vehicle looked terrible on the before pictures but the after pictures wow what a difference. Vehicle has a nice reflection and the interior...man I like those stripes. I like the thick stripes look wicked :righton:

Hey I've been meaning to ask, how do you do the multy quote's? I've been scratching my head at that

Well done on the vehicle oh the rims look wicked :applause:
oh one more thing, do you detail a vehicle in one day or do you spread it out in two days? Just wondering, becuase to date I have yet to do a full detail in one day...I like spreading it in two days. Just wondering that's all.

Thank you for sharing.

Carlos..Thanks for the compliments..I appreciate it. I'm trying to set a new trend with my thick stripes..whatda think?? I like to spread my detail over 2 days. The 1st day I wash, do wheels, engine and clay. Then I go around with touch up so it can dry overnight before I go hitting it with the buffing wheel, or wet sand.
As for the multiple quotes..I had to ask that one too..LOL..I open a new window and go to the same post. On the 1st one I hit "new reply" and then go to hte new window. I scroll to a quote and hit the "quote" button. It opens in a new screen..I then copy the entire contents of hte quote. I then go back to the 1st window and paste it into the "new reply" and respond. I just repeat the process going back and forth between the 2 windows. Hope that helps.

I hear you with the 2 day detailing, I find it makes the detail seem faster lol that's just me though hahaha. But I agree with you with regards to the touch up paint. I like the wide stripes, looks really good.

As for the miltiple quotes, I gotcha. I've done that a few times too...I just thought you were doing it a different way. Thanks for sharing.

The wide stripes are pretty cool actually, GROOVY :p. The Crocs are being trendy with detailing :D I have tried some on and they are very comfy, but they're my dad's and they're not big enough for me so I can't use em :(

A very fine job! That was one nasty looking Saab when you got it. What a great turn around you did. Surely you will get more work after that display of good workmanship!
