Doh! I wish I didn't see this. I just placed an order a few days ago. I'm sure I'll love it, but knowing I could have saved some money by waiting a few days hurts a little...

Great deal. Now do one on the boss! I already have 3 Flex's!

Just to chime in...

If you detail cars for money, part time of full time. One of the things I teach in my 3-day detailing boot camp class is to purchase 2 Flex 3401 polishers and leave one with the factory 5.5" backing plate for the 6.5" Hybrid pads and set the other one up with the Lake Country Backing Plate Adapter so you can use the Lake Country 4" Backing Plate and then you can burn and turn the 5" Hybrid pads.

This way you don't waste time switching backing plates and have two polishers ready to go and you can use and fit the right pad size to the panel you're buffing.

You also have a back-up polisher should one stop working, (RARE), and if you have an employee then they can be buffing too.

You also avoid the RISK of messing up your polisher by using the wrong bolt when you switch back to the factory backing plate because the bolt lengths are DIFFERENT.

At Mobile Tech Expo each year I teach a class,

How to turn your Flex 3401 into a money making machine

I also cover this in my Flex how-to book (http://www.autogeek.net/flex-polisher-book.html).

Just some food for thought because tool sales are far and few between.

Here's some examples of using the Flex to do production detailing, that is turning your Flex 3401 into a money making machine.

How to use a one-step cleaner/wax to maximize profits (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/58359-how-use-one-step-cleaner-wax-maximize-profits.html)

High quality production detailing by Mike Phillips (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/76337-high-quality-production-detailing-mike-phillips.html)

Both of the above articles are jam-packed with information to make you a better and faster detailer using the Flex 3401.

Here's examples of doing show car detailing from our classes....

Flex 3401 Detailing Class - Extreme Makeover - 1939 Chevy (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-detailing-boot-camp-classes/94273-flex-3401-detailing-class-extreme-makeover-1939-chevy.html)

Flex 3401 Detailing Classes - Show Car Detailing and Production Detailing (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-saturday-detailing-101/86037-flex-3401-detailing-classes-show-car-detailing-production-detailing.html)

How to use the Flex 3401 to remove swirls & water spots (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-detailing-boot-camp-classes/92325-how-use-flex-3401-remove-swirls-water-spots.html)

The Flex 3401 Car Detailing Class - Hands-on real-world training (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-detailing-boot-camp-classes/94236-flex-3401-car-detailing-class-hands-real-world-training.html)

The above articles show you step by step how to do high end detailing. The Flex 3401 is a great tool for doing both types of work, production detailing and show car detailing.

And when it comes to boat detailing, slap a wool pad on the Flex 3401 and get a high quality one-step cleaner/wax and that's how you do it.

Does the west coast shipping upgrade apply here? I know it's through Pinnacle but I thought Pinnacle, AG, PBMG, are all part of the same system. I'm not sure if I can hold it together until next Wednesday rolls around to get my Flex...haha
Excited to test it against my current DA and see how my efficiency improves.

Scott, I love my Boss. I understand how people put the Flex down after getting a long throw. I did still use the Flex with a wool pad for deep scratches on a FoST I did last week, but definitely worth every penny.

Once you get some time behind the buffer you can dramatically increase your speed and where this is important is compounding and polishing or using one-step cleaner/waxes.

It's because you can't stop the pad from rotating or oscillating. Then learn how to go up on edge and take advantage of the 6.5" pads and you can do amazing work.

Watch for the write-up I post for the 1940 Studebaker. I knocked this out in 5 hours from start to finish.

I did the 1969 Corvette in about 7 hours but it had overspray all over it and I had to rub like a sun of a gun to get it off.

Thanks for that. I'll be sure to watch for your post. What I look forward to most, is doing a couple less passes when correcting difficult paint. I don't get many cars with brand new or clean paint, so this should make me feel more confident from what I've read and been told by others on this site.

Does the Pinnacle APC come in a smaller size than the 128 oz jug? I thought I saw a 32 oz bottle a while back. Thanks!

32oz. was discontinued. It's a much better deal to get the 128oz. for only $29.99
