i had quoted someone for a detail, and he went with a cheaper detailer.

well, yesterday i touched base to see when he wanted to schedule, as when we first talked he said in a few weeks, so it was about that time.

he said "man, i wish i would've just gone to you in the first place, because my car is all messed up."

he send me some pictures, i said i can take a try and correcting the issue at hand: all trim and plastic lip kit was stained brown.

i'll let the pictures do the rest of the speaking!

What in the world did the other detailer use to leave it looking like that and what did you use to fix it?

Used motor oil, to add that just waxed shine.

OP, that looked horrendous, nice save.

It was horrible. In person looked much worse. Was brown like baby puke/poop. I was at his house for maybe 2 hours. Good amount of time spent talking. A showed him a a test spot on trunk because the person definitely did not take a polisher to the paint at all. So I'll be detailing his car mid September!

As for what I used. I went in this order
Water and magic sponge
Glass cleaner and magic sponge
Shampoo and magic sponge
Apc 1:4 magic sponge
Thinner and Terry towel did the trick.

The only part I dressed afterwards was the mirrors..
