I picked up a dark green (aquamarine pearl) 91 mr2 turbo a month or so ago. To find one with the clear not pealing is rare so I'm going to try to keep it nice. It does have some light scratches and small haze on the front hood.
I washed and clayed it and unfortunately got some water spots from well water. Then I used turtle wax swirl remover witch took care of the water spots but not the scratches. I don't want to remove to much clear coat but I do want to try once more in removing scratches. I want the most uv protection as possible. I may try a opti coat or something next year.

I'm also thinking about a porter cable 7424xp. The one I want comes with your choice of 4 pads plus 2 red pads. Probably get a pink, gray, blue and not sure on the last one

The products I'm thinking about are
pinnacle advanced swirl remover. Not sure on pad thinking orange or pink?
Black label surface cleaning polish (because it says it's non abrasive) gray pad
Black label diamond sealant. Red pad
Already have surf city finishing wax. red pad

Am I on the right track?

Sorry no one got around to answering you. I'm not the most experienced but I'll give you a bump at least since I like your car.

Sounds good to me but I have no experience with the product you are considering. You may want to grab a couple extra pads, but you could also just work on it one panel at a time.

Which kit were you looking at?

I think most would recommend one with the 5" backing plate and some 5.5" pads.

I am not a professional. I just work on family vehicles. I like the Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover. It does a great job with mild scratches and finishes ready to wax. I have a Porter Cable 7424 XP with Lake Country Flat Pads and a Flex 3401 VRG with Lake Country Hybrid Pads. You probably want some cutting pads and polishing pads. In the Lake Country Flat pads, I have the orange, white and black. I will use the orange or white pad with the polish depending on what happens with a test spot and I use the black pad to apply wax.
