Any advice, I tend to pretreat the area and then go over with the regular ONR process. I have soft black Honda paint. Problem is when I go over the spot it doesn't take all the residue off and it sometimes even scratches the paint and I have to polish out the scratches.

The bird dropping aren't even that bad or sometimes even its the yellow pollen spots. I have hard water and restrictions at my house so I like really washings the car.

Is there anything in between I can do?

Thanks

Buy some DI water and use that for your ONR mix. Get the car in the shade for an hour or so, then apply your ONR, let it soak for about a min then wipe. Should break down most bird poop if it isnt too old and dried.

You could try soaking the area down with ONR and then lay a towel that has been soaking in very warm water on the paint. Then continue with the Rinseless Wash and come back in about 5 minutes and the bird dropping should wipe right off with the warm towel

Mike had a good article in which he described soaking a towel with water and just letting it sit on the dropping for several minutes. I've used this on old dry poop and it rehydrates pretty quickly. Obviously the longer it's been there the more likely it is to damage the clear. Helps to have a good LSP on the car.

Pre soaking is good, letting a ONR soaked microfiber sit on it while you wash the rest of the car is even better.
