View Full Version : Meguiar's PlastX works as a 3 step- I hate fixing headlights

An aging Chrysler Sebring had some disgraceful looking headlights. 10 years of oxidation, pits, scratches, and craze adornded them. So I took it upon myself to clean them up a bit. Wet sanding with 3m wet/dry 1000, 1500, 2000 grit made them look like this:

Then I remembered that I had some PlastX from Meguiars on hand that I never use. Maybe if I put it to work it might net some results. Then I got this idea that if I used it as a 3 step it might work ok? What was I thinking? Grabbed the DA, Buff & Shine pads, PlastX and decided to go for it. First step wool 3"-medium pressure-approx 6 section passes, then yellow polish foam 3" weight of the DA only-approx 5 section passes, then black foam finish 3" with no pressure slighty lifting pressure from DA weight just to massage plastic surface-approx 8 section passes.

Not bad for OTC scratch sauce! Maybe I will use it again.
