how do I get rid of calcium & lime deposit on paint & glass?

First thing I'd try would be carpro's spotless. I've dissolved some pretty serious hard water spots with it

i wonder how something like CLR would work? I am not sure if it is paint safe though..
what about plain vinegar ?

You can try vintages. I doubt it will do much. Optimum MDR would be worth a shot.

Flitz Instant Calcium, Rust & Lime Remover, hard water spots remover, calcium remover, tile cleaner, fiberglass cleaner, rust remover (http://www.autogeek.net/flitz-calcium-rust-remover.html)
Follow-up with:

CLR worked great on my DIL's black Toyota when drips of concrete was dripping on the car while she was parking in a garage in Boston for a few days.
(She was wondering why those parking spots were always available, ha.)
