View Full Version : 4" LC CCS Yellow vs. 5.5" LC CCS Yellow

Has anyone noticed a quality difference between the 4" LC CCS Yellow pad and the 5.5" LC CCS Yellow?

I busted out a 4" yellow and noticed the quality and density of the foam was not the same as the 5.5". As a matter of fact the 4" Orange Pad had more density than the 4" Yellow. The 5.5 Yellow is very dense, the 4" you can see the pores of the foam.

After a few passes with the 4" yellow, the pad pretty much collapsed and fell apart.

I'm not quite sure if there is a quality issue... I haven't called AG yet, just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

You know that's a really good question... I'm color blind, so I'm at the mercy of whatever AG ships me.

I like how the 5.5 smart pads not only come wrapped in plastic, but the also have the descriptions on the outside. The 4" pads come unwrapped.... So I have to believe what I received... otherwise, my eyes can't tell the difference between, Red, Orange, Tangerine, Crimson, or Green.

Anything is possible.

They do look a lot alike though.

Called AG and they definitely said the gold is very soft like velvet, and the yellow has some bite, which mine do. I'm just wondering why the center of the 4" collapsed.

They're sending new ones...

When you get the yellows update... just curious if the new 4" will have the same texture as the one you posted. I find it odd the 4" & 5.5" were that much different. Oh those golds on a rotary running slow (600RPM) with SF4500 always seems to put a smile on my face :)
