Just wondering what methods people have found to effectively polish BMW's black shadowline trim?

Doing this by hand is not only tedious but unlikely to get out the scratches. I've used my DA polisher with M205 but it's a messy job to say the least so I'm wondering what (if any) other tools people have found. RUPES makes a tool with brush attachments but it's a rather expensive solution.

I'm thinking to try and find some type of small polishing attachment for a drill or to use a dremel with the felt polishing wheel. My concern with the dremel is that it will just end up splattering the polish all over the place like the DA.

As you know, completely tape off the surrounding area. To make it easier, open the two front doors to easily access the rubber trim on the front part of the rear window trim.

Equip a machine with 3" plate/pads and start with a polishing pad and finishing polish. Not very much polish is needed to get going. You are only working with a small pad and area.

Don't bother with a Dremel.
