New owner brought me this 04 Mystichrome. Car has 151k miles on it, & the paint has, shall we say, led a rough life. This was probably the most abused & neglected paint I've ever had to deal with. Not just swirls, but scratches everywhere. The deck lid looked like somebody just rubbed it back & forth with a ton of grit on the rag. I couldn't see a lot of the imperfections until the 1st pass with my WS21 & Menz FG400. I had to hand-rub several scratches with Poorboy's SSR3. I spent 8 hrs correcting it, & I probably got 80 - 90% right. Finished it off with SF4000 & a coat of PL sealant. The new owner will treat it right, including getting the front bumper skin repainted.

Nicely done! Hard to believe that thing has 151k after what you've done to it. I bet it sounds great too.

Thanx, guys. Here's a few more. I can't begin to say how badly this paint was hammered. 3"-4" scratches everywhere, each one taking 15-20 minutes to rub out. So many of them that I kept asking myself how they could've gotten there?

Thanx again, everyone. 10:30 pm here & I just re-did the deck lid because under lights I saw some swirls. He would've probably been happy with it, but I wasn't. It's finally done & the owner is coming to pick it up in the morning. I don't know if there are any other Mystichrome Cobra's in the Indy area. They only made a little over 1000 of them. I haven't seen any around town. A buddy used to have a 96 Mystic Cobra (which I also detailed) but he sold it. Hopefully I'll see this one around some local car shows.

Thanx! Yeah, folks see my black Shelby at shows & ask me if I can make their cars look like that. I don't know if you're on the SVT Performance group on Facebook, but a guy on there asked if anyone close to him (northern Indiana) did paint correction. He said a shop up there wanted to charge him $700. I told him, depending on the condition of the car, I would do it for way less. He thanked me, but didn't want to drive all the way down here. Anyway, this guy with the Mystichrome saw the thread & my Shelby pics on my FB page, & asked me to do his. Plus he has a buddy with a black 2013 GT500 that wants his done.

If I had known that Ford was going to produce the Cobra in 04 with Mystichrome I would have waited until then to buy mine.

I may even get a second Cobra if I can find a stock, unmolested, really low mileage Mystichrome.

That blend of colors sure does look great.
