I have a 2013 Premier Sunsation PTX tritoon and I'm looking for a recommendation on products, process and procedure to polish my aluminum toons. They're currently bare and have only mild discoloration/oxidation. I was planning to buy a Flex rotary for this, but was wondering if a Flex 3401 would do the job too. The reason I ask is I could use the 3401 on cars as well in the future. I currently have 2 GG6, a GG mini. and a 7424xp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Evidently a how to used to be published as to how Mike Phillips poloished a suntracker, but now is unavailable.

Anyone know the rest of the story? I'm looking to order Marine31 products but want to know which ones he used, how he used them and any tips. Any help would be appreciated Autogeek! Thanks.

I'm thinking of a Flex PE14 with 5.5 and 4" knotted wool pads plus the Marine 31 polish (solid form), but is the liquid any different???

Does your Premier have the factory polished tubes?

My father used to have a Premier Grand Majestic LTD with the PTX package and the polished tube options. I just went over them with a standard aluminium/chrome polish (Malo, a local product) and they came out like new.

Look into the Sharkhide products. I came on here to ask questions about this myself, but I have done a lot of acid washes on pontoon boats using a product called Zep A-Lume and it works great for removing the grime.

From what I have understood on the Sharkhide website is you acid wash it using the Zep A-Lume or Sharkhide makes another similar product that I haven't tried yet and then you use the Sharkhide polish with a high speed buffer on a low setting. As far as the Sharkhide metal protectant that is suppose give the aluminum 3-5 years of protection I have questions myself. The website says you can put the metal protectant over the polished aluminum using a white cotton paper diaper and that you may need to go over it twice on high polished aluminum....here's where I got confused....watched a Sharkhide video where they say to use laquer thinner before applying the metal protectant but do NOT use over waxes or polish because it will remove them...

Just thought I would share where I am at on this, need some help myself. I'm sure Mike has a much better approach, really looking forward to his new book!

Bought a Flex PE14 on sale last week from AG in prep for this project. I plan to run twisted wool LC 7.5" pads and some mini pads for details.

My Premier has unpolished toons from the factory. I'll be coating them with Sharkhide. I just haven't decided on Marine 31 polish or Sharkhide polish for prep. If you search you'll find an excellent how-to on pontoonforums.com. It's a shame AG doesn't have one.
