Hi everyone :-)
what is the safest and effective way to remove sticker residue, cause i work in a car dealership and we’re using break parts cleaner ’cause that’s the available chemical for us to use. Thanks very much fellow forumers :-)

I use many things, but the cheapest, safest and easiest is WD40. Other good ones on my shelf are GooGone, 3M Adhesive Remover and Naptha (lighter fluid). All fairly docile to most surfaces.

BTW, keep ALL brake cleaners away from all painted surfaces and all plastics. It will do a LOT of damage.

I'd use naphtha or 3M Adhesive Remover. WD40 leaves a film that is annoying to clean off.

Mineral Spirits is another economical and effective option.

Rapid Remover.....available from Amazon and various places.

Goo Gone "AUTOMOTIVE!"......available from Wally World......make certain it says "Automotive" and will be around oil change items.

PURPLE POWERRRRR. Spray some on a microfiber towel and dab it on the sticker area. 5 Seconds later, wipe away

Rapid remover works excellent. But as mentioned you have many different options

I just went through this with a new to me car. I removed the pinstripes and dealer sticker, then I used 3M aerosol adhesive remover. Worked great

FYI - Two types of adhesives can be used for stickers water soluble adhesive, or oil based adhesive.

Oil derived stuff removes, oil based &

Water & soap work best with water based adhesives.

Do this backwards & you don't get far, so try water first no luck use an oil based remover.

Another vote for Goo Gone. Love that stuff when removing residue, whether it's adhesive from stickers or the double sided 3M tape used for badges, it always works.
