Did I just permanently destroyed the paint??

My friend just bought an old BMW 318i 2004, he asked me to polish the car.

As usual I started with Sonax Tar Remover, I sprayed the whole car, let it sat for 2 min, then I sprayed Chemical Guys Bug and Tar Remover (2 cap mix with water in Chemical Guys cannon foam), left it for 1 min then I jet it with water.

Later, after cleaning 4 wheels and I opened the doors, I found It had water spots on door frame, just the center of the B pillar where they stick the rear door in. The water spots were little bit white. (See pic)

I managed to use Wolfgang total swirls remover 3.0 to remove some of them but very hard to do it by hand especially rack and gaps.

Later, I found on passenger side front and rear door, there were marks also but it seem to be under the clear coat, cannot buff it of.
When it dried, the car is totally normal, but when it wet, I easily can see those marks. More over, if I drop some water, leave it there for 2-3 min, there will be a small light blue mark. Although you can wipe the water, the spot will stay there for 3-5 min then disappear.

I really have no idea, did I mix the CG bug and tar remover too strong? (First time I used it). Or because the Sonax tar remover interact with Chemical guys? Why the rest of the car was fine but only in those areas?

Please help me. Thank you!

Probably from the dealership, they like to use very strong products to clean the shuts, unless it wasn't there beforehand

Ha ha, that's the opposite of usual if you have a CC problem, frequently it looks great when it's wet, not when it's dry.

How does that white-when-wet area feel when it's dry? Smooth, sticky, etc.? It may be some sort of bad respray in there that's really porous.

Did you try putting a little compound on a cloth and see what it does?

This happened once using wheel acid to clean around an emblem on a black car in the sun. Wet sanded and even hit it with a wool pad. It's very likely affected the whole clear coat.

Thx guys, it felt smooth actually.
Yes it rubbed it with small pad and compound, then I used 1 inch foam pad with flex rotary to clean it, I removed some of them on the B pillar where has enough space for my smallest pad, but not on the doors.

After I did some polishing, I saw it reduced quite a lot on the doors, it did not look like a blur area anymore but there is still marks, dots if I sprayed some water on. :((

If you only see it when it is wet is it possible it was there all along, you just didn't notice it until the. Car was wet?

The clearcoat is usually thinner in door frames. Maybe it was the tar remover, or maybe it was there in beforehand.
I would do a small test spot with FG400 or M100/101/105 or something you have which is similar with a MF cloth by hand.
If it is not enough, I would use an used 3000 grit sandpaper or a 5000 grit, very, very gentle, and then polish it by hand, with FG400 (my favorite for this kind of situations, since it is glossier) or M100/101/105 with MF cloth. After that refinish it with M205 or Menzerna 2500. Remember to be extremely gentle, almost no pressure at all, with the sand paper, since it is thin CC.
It is a common problem where I live, since car washes use an extremely strong stuff, with Fluoridric and Hydrochloridric acid (!!) in its composition.
