I have a new '14 Mustang and a '13 Rogue.
Both have great paint so I just want a great wax (prefer liquid), trim sealant, and the front windshield on the Rogue is horrible.
It sat in sprinklers for a while and has a nasty film and water spots. When it rains, you have better visibility sticking your head out the window. There are no scratches on the windshield, just bad wipers (will be replaced) and a oily film I cannot wash away with regular car wash soap.

For wax:
Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Car Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/pinliqsouvwa.html)
Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion (http://www.autogeek.net/pinpainclean.html)

Trim:
Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant 4 oz. (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-trim-sealant.html)

Windshield-I have some options but $$ was a bigger factor here since it was only for one vehicle. Again, I don't have scratches. Just a nasty front windshield.
Pinnacle Crystal Clear Glass Kit (http://www.autogeek.net/glass-water-spot-remover-kit.html)
or
DP High Performance Glass Restorer (http://www.autogeek.net/dp515.html)
or one or all of these:
Pinnacle GlassCoat Window Sealant with Rain Repellent (http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-glass-coat-window-sealant.html)
Pinnacle Crystal Clear Glass Cleaner with Water Repellent 32 oz. (http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-glass-cleaner.html)
Pinnacle GlassWork Water Spot Remover (http://www.autogeek.net/pinnacle-glass-water-spot-remover.html)

Flex
I was also thinking about getting the Flex (http://www.autogeek.net/flex-polisher-kit-bag.html)but wondering which pads to get. I was thinking a Grey, Blue, and Red. Or should I get Gold vs Red? Again, these are newer cars. Also, do you apply wax/sealants directly to these pads or do you put pads on top of these foam pads (bonnets)?

Anyone have any kind of feedback?

If you only want to spread wax you don't need a flex. I have a flex and it's awesome for correction etc. I use it to apply wax as well buts overkill for that.
You apply wax to the foam pad that's attached to the flex (finishing pad for wax) then apply it to car

:whs:

If you're really looking to just apply wax / sealant by machine then you can save some $ and go with something like the GG6, which will also do at great job a correction if needed, with the right products / pads. No need for bonnets, I'd suggest a black or red pad to apply wax or sealant.

As for your glass situation, the Pinnacle kit is a great choice and includes everything you'll need to clean up your glass unless you have scratches or the waterspots are very severe - in that case you would need to look at Ceriglass, but starting with the kit is a great choice.

Welcome, and hope this helps! :xyxthumbs:

The wax and Flex are great you will nor regret any of those. As far as the pads go I would read about what each color is pad is used for and make my selection on what I'm trying to do to my cars. I normally use more of the white and orange for polishing and correction and the red or gold for the wax. You might want to consider a Nanoskin towel with clay lube or Clay kit to make sure the paint is ready for the wax. As far as the glass goes I normally use Poorboys Glass Cleaner and then a Glass Sealant if your looking for rain protection. I've tried Pinnalces Glass Sealant and was not impressed with it at all. The Water Spot remover works great the Glass Sealant not as much. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks. I was thinking of going with the GG6 now. The Flex sounds useful if I had paint swirls but I do not plan on having swirls in my paint.
Is the GG6 my best bet for a safe wax applicator?

Bro, you've got three threads going for the same thing....

I guarantee you have swirls in your paint right now. I've seen Porsches and Aston Martins straight from the factory with the plastic still on them have scratches and swirls. I'm sorry but unless you've had someone correct the paint or you have, it has defects.

Furthermore, I don't think it's possible to never put swirls in your car. Even Mike Phillips - the master himself - would say that a car needs a light polish at least every 2 years. That's a long time for a lot of variables to have an effect on the wash process.

I have never tried the GG6 but I have a Porter Cable and Flex and you can't go wrong with the Flex. It's easy to use to can take care of almost any task. It is really safe for waxing just make sure you use the wax application pads. I use the red but have the gold too. Both are great just got a good deal on red pads. I would vote to buy the Flex I love mine.

Please tell us how you plan on not having swirls.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I guess I figured you get swirls by not knowing how to wash/wax a car properly. How do you get swirls in the first place if that is not the case?

I've been hand washing and hand waxing my cars since I got them ('13 and '14), they look perfect to me while looking specifically for swirls.
