Saw this Trans Am at a Sam's as I was passing by. I had to stop and ask about it and take a couple pics.

I SO wanted to ask him to let me fix the paint but being a hobbyist I figured I better not.

I don't see how people can let expensive cars get that bad.

I have always found it very difficult to talk up a persons car, while at the same time telling them that it looks like Big Foots ass.

Pitiful....... probably take it to the local car wash with the brushes beating the paint to death.

My heart hurts because of that back window... the 02 was king, never to be topped. :)

yup, people just don't see the value in it, they're just too busy and don't care for their car like they should. I see it all the time, and it sucks even more when you're working on it and you still can't convince them that it needs/should be corrected.

It's just the way most people are, but I agree, it does hurt even more on a nice car like that.

Whoever did that conversion kit is probably the culprit behind the horrible state of the paint.

the 2002 was generally regarded as being one of the more popular F-Body years. The car in the picture is a Camaro anyway.

Pontiac went out of business in 2010. In 2012, General Motors signed a licensing deal with the company, Trans Am Depot to use the Trans Am name and Pontiac logos in custom versions of new Trans Ams that are Camaro conversions. GTO's also.
TransAm Depot : 2014 Trans Am and 2014 GTO : Hurst Shifters : Flowmaster : Classic Trans Am Firebirds : The Blackbird Custom Muscle Car (http://www.transamdepot.com/)

Just like there's a conversion company making 'Cuda's out of current Gen Challengers.

Since I'm starting my own business, I'm finding tactful/tasteful ways to talk to people. If you're in the detail business I think one has to see these situations as opportunity. But tactful/tasteful is the key.

My friend was a very successful service manager for a largest dealership chain in the North East. He's opened his own business and I've learned a lot from him on to to approach people and be helpful.

Just because he and I were talking about our businesses at a restaurant bar, we had people around us taking to us and asking questions.

As for the T/A... It needs some love.
It's a shame Pontiac is gone and we may never see another Firebird (sans conversion kit).

As a kid (late 70's) my favorite was the 77 T/A or Formula 400.

:dblthumb2:

My heart doesn't hurt, I lmao because as all of you know all it is is a Camaro with some body work. If it's not a Pontiac it can't be a Trans Am.

Yep. You want to say it without being insulting. I was thinking: "Do you have anyone to detail it for you?" As an opening.

Also, don't want to mess anything up. I would hate it if I messed up mine but someone else's would be so much worse.
