I'm looking for a new tire dressing and wondered what you all thought was the biggest bang for the buck?

One more question. With the 6" edge 2000 pads, is there such a thing as to high of a setting on the 7424? I was using an orange pad today on the 5 setting on front bumper and the pad started feeling funny so I stoped the machine and observed the plastic disc in the pad was actually melting. The adapter was very hot like maybe the disc was spinning on the inside. Feed back please

Optimum Tire Shine..it's on sale! I sprayed it onto a Meguiar's yellow foam applicator I have lying around and used that to apply it on the tires. It's the easiest way to apply tire dressing imo. After that, you just have to wipe off the excess and you're done. It's a matte gloss and it looks perfect to me. I don't like wet looking tires that shine as much as the car.

Two completely unrelated questions!

I can answer the first one. My favorite is Pinnacle Black Onyx (http://www.autogeek.net/piblontigel.html). It is expensive but a little goes a long way and this stuff lasts longer than any other tire dressing I've tried. My second choice is the DP Gloss Tire Gel (http://www.autogeek.net/dp330.html). Again, a bottle of it lasts a long time and it looks great, but it doesn't hold it's shine as well as the Pinnacle product.

My alsolutely favorite tires dressings are Pinnacle, Wolfgang, and DP tire gels...Best bang for the buck would be DP. You will love that tire dressing!

As far as problem with Edge 2000 pads, just P.M. Aaron (aka Edge buffing pads,) or Meghan, and they will help you out.

DP Gel is good, Optimum Tire shine is good. I personally love Armor All Extreme Gel. Depends on whether you want a gel or water based product. AVOID Megs Insane Shine, what a messy, greasy, dirt attracting pos product lol, not even worthy of wheel wells.

I love pinnacle black onyx tire gel, its not the cheapest stuff but I like it the best(smells sssssooooo good, it doesnt taste bad either :p). I would go with a water based dressing as some solvent based dressings can harm tires over time.

I like DP for best bang for the buck but Pinnacle Black Onyx is what I use on my cars. I have recently used Surf City Garage Beyond Black Tire Pro and like it's shine after application better than ANYTHING I have used. If it's durablility is as good as DP or Pinnacle it may become not only my favorite but my only tire dressing.

I think Optimum tire shine is the best bang for the buck and I like the matte look instead of the greasy look.

Let me know what you find out about the Edge problem...I have been having the same problem for a few weeks. I have burnt myself three or four times on the Edge adapter. I thought it was my extension cord but changing that didn't help at all.

Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel is nice. Leaves a nice natural semigloss finish. I little goes along way and I have never got any sling off from it.

Megs. Hot Shine Spray for big tires and Megs. Hot Shine Gel for smaller tires. Goes on easy doesn't sling off, if you don't go overboard, extreme shine, and seems to last a good while, oh yea and if it does sling off it won't stain the paint. Here is a pic with just one light coat.

Had been using Meguire's High Endurance but right now, partial to the Wolfgang Black Diamond (Thank you Meghan for the sample ;)). Its a thin consistency, goes on easy, don't need much and after about 1/2 hour, wipe off leaving a nice shine but not too blingy. Hardly any sling either.

Big winner in my book.

Pinnacle Black Onyx gel, DP Gel, AA Extreme Gel, and the green No Touch spray bottle are my fav's. Meguiars All Season Dressing is nice too.
