I try to price myself out of the market so that nobody asks me to do them, but when a long time client that accounts for most of my detailing work through their referrals and family asks, what can you do? Fortunately this was brand new and the only work I really had to do was clean off the waterspots and clay it before applying the sealant. I went with Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax because this was just too big to think about using Wolfgang on it. I would have loved to, but I would have cried the whole time, so Ultimate Liquid Wax was what it got.

More than anything I thought it would be a great way to break Erik in on the polishing aspects. Not much to risk ruining when you are just polishing a fiberglass wall. Five or six hours of polishing into it and I think he will tell you that he doesn't like RVs either. lol

He was just the right size to get in and shine up the engine too. :)

Definitely not something I'm looking forward to doing when it comes back covered in travel grime and sap, but I think the majority of its life will be spent parked along the wall inside their hangar and out of the sun, so it should only be a once every year or so kind of deal. Maybe even less. (keeping fingers crossed)

Wait until they start asking about a "protective coating" that they want done.

Just like they have on their cars.

What about something like Hydro2 on a vehicle like that? That seems like it might be easier for such a large vehicle?

How long does that project take? My inlaws just bought an Allegro(38 ft) and I may be asked to "clean" it up at some point. How many pads/how much product did you use?

Thanks,
David

Wow look at that hangar! I'm afraid someone will ask me to clean a RV and I won't have a clue what price to quote. How much do you guys charge?

Waxing is fine on a high ender like your Tiffin or a Prevost, but careful when waxing the lower end units as most of the graphics are vinyl. Something like 303 has to be used so as not to dry out the stickers. Also, don't get too upset about doing those big boys. Most of the RV service centers around me charge $30-$40 per foot and that's just a wash job. The interior costs more.

The faded rvs are difficult to achieve maximum gloss and clarity .What I do is moistened the graphics and the gel coat with pledge ,let it soak it helps with buffer walking ,I've tried every possible product to achieve 90 percent correction nothing came close as a solo product.I created a concoction with the compounds and polishes I had in the van into one bottle came out beautiful with just the one step, had to do 2 steps on it topped it all with Blackfire paint coating. and told the owner no soap on it so now I take care of it.
