Review - NEW BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/new-car-care-products/92441-review-new-blackfire-midnight-sun-carnauba-spray-wax.html)

Sometimes when you have to test out a new product and write a review it's kind of... well lets say not super exciting. For example testing and writing a review for a carpet and upholstery spot remover.

But when the product works great, it's fun to use and smells good enough to drink.... then it gets exciting... well at least it's fun!

Case in point, the new BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-midnight-sun-spray-wax.html).

I'm a huge spray wax fan because it's the fastest way to restore a vibrant shine to paint that's already in great condition. The key is using a spray wax that actually works great.

When Nick asked me to test out this new wax I have to admit, I had my doubts as to how well it would work. I mean, a spray wax is a spray wax right?

Here's the thing though... Nick said,

"You're going to like it"

I've been working with Nick now for over 5 years so he's pretty in tune with what I like and what I don't like when it comes to car detailing products. Thing is, when he said that to me it kind of went in one ear and out the other. That is to say... I didn't take him to seriously because I figured even if the new spray wax did work good it certainly wouldn't be THAT good?

Then I tried it.

Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN Im the MAN

BAM!

After misting some on to the paint and then spreading it around with one side of a microfiber towel, then flipping the towel to the dry side and wiping the section to a dry shine I said....

Wow! This is a nice spray wax!

And it is. It's actually a super nice spray wax.

It apply and spreads around like just about any quality spray wax but the magic kicks in when you buff a section of paint to a dry shine.

You can see the gloss it adds but what I like best is how it makes the paint feel slicker than snot. And I like it when paint feels super slippery to the touch.

And the scent? Yummy. Makes me crave some candy.

It took me about 10 minutes to walk around my truck, spray the wax on and wipe it off and it was fun and easy and not only is it probably the easiest spray wax I've ever used it creates a high shine finish that's as slippery as slippery gets.

My new favorite spray wax.

It's easy to write a review for a product that works great. It's also easy to recommend a product that works great. If you like spray waxes or even better, if you've never been that fond of spray waxes, then trust me... you're going to love this product.

Here's some info about the product. Go ahead and read through it but seriously... instead of thinking about whether or not to try yet another new product based upon product description, like the Nike slogan...

Just do it...

It's seriously that good or I wouldn't write a review saying it's that good.

Here's the product copy. It's well written as it describes all the features and benefits it provides. I'll dissect it and add my comments....

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax gives your vehicle the rich, reflective shine of carnauba in a quick spray! There’s no easier way to give your vehicle a glossy coating of protection that creates WHIPLASH!

I agree. As long as the paint on your car is new or like new there really is no other easier way to give your vehicle a glossy coating of protection. It's just too easy,

Spray
Spread
Buff to a dry shine
Move to a new section

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax can be sprayed on and buffed off in minutes and the finish lasts up to 12 weeks!

I agree. I didn't time myself but I'm a good guesser of time and my guess is it took me about 10 minutes do wax and shine my truck. Start to finish then walking away.

Hand waxing is well worth the time, if you have the time. If you don’t, use BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax. Genuine carnauba wax has been synthesized with proprietary polymers into a streak-free spray. The slick finish dries perfectly clear and creates a depth of color normally reserved for a paste wax.

I'm not a chemist and don't ever pretend to be one in the forum world. What I've been doing all these years in the detailing world is taking the advice of my friend John Dillon when he once told me,

Focus on the performance of the product, not what's in the bottle or can"

Whatever the magic potion is inside the bottle it performs exactly as promised. You have my word on it based upon real world experience.

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax offers anti-static paint protection to keep your vehicle cleaner between details. Dirt and water slide off the paint in most cases. You will notice fewer water spots and less dirt accumulation. When you do wash your vehicle, it’s nearly effortless because dirt and debris cannot get a firm hold on the slippery wax coating.

Can't comment on this part of the product copy as I have not washed my truck since I applied it but I will be watching to see how washing goes the next time I wash my truck. This aspect is the least of my worries as I plan on using this product as my new regular maintenance product.

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax delivers beautiful results on all types of paint. It is an excellent product to maintain daily drivers.

I agree. The thing about a product being an excellent way to maintain a finish is using it often. This comes down to you dedicating the time to actually use it. So keep some clean, microfiber towels in your car or truck and use it regularly and you're paint will always look just waxed.

When you want a carnauba wax shine in less time, there’s no substitute for BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax.

That's your basic closing statement and accurate for this product.

Enough reading and looking at pictures... get yourself a bottle today and test me to see if I'm shooting straight with you.

dammit, right after I buy a gallon of d156.

BF products are mainly what I use so this would have fit in perfectly.

How will this work with the new BF coating?

Great review Mike! :dblthumb2:

Nick,

I would gladly volunteer to test it out on my genny as it's currently sporting 2 layers of BF Midnight Sun. As it's garage kept it was applied a few months ago and it's still looking great. I do a wipe down after the occasional drive, currently been using BFWDPS. I was thinking of putting a fresh coat of MS on it, but if you're willing to take a chance on me I'll use that over the summer to top off the BF MS and document it.

Beautiful review Mike. Well laid out, easy to read, and thoughtfully executed. In true Mike Phillips style.

Looks like this product is rather a heavy, milky consistency which by the way of the pictures spreads and buffs really nicely.

I really enjoy a nice thick spray wax over a runny wimpy consistency.

Get yourself a bottle today and test me to see if I'm shooting straight with you.

I'm gonna take you up on that and test you... :bananas:

You have Blackfire coating on this one if I remember correctly. The spray wax would probably look great on it.
