New Car. Let's test some products long term.

Hey all

So I'm getting a new car and want to test some products. I have CQUARTZ on my daily but I can use that. I have the new Blackfird crystal coating on hand as well as OC2.0.

How should I go about this. Just the hood. Sides as well, roof etc.

I plan to do long term testing with regular washing, rinseless/waterless. It will go through the north east winter aswell. And me daily driven.

If anyone has any thoughts, ideas, products in mind lets hear it. I wanna do this as a community. Open to anything.

If you're going to do a "side-by-side" test, it needs to be on the same panel, or at least on the same part of the car (top or side). I remember someone on here getting ripped for doing a comparison with one product on the hood and one on the fender.

I'd vote for sectioning the hood or roof into say 6 sections (roof probably won't work because usually the sunroof takes up too much room, but it depends on the car).

Yeah I ment it as sectioning the hood, but what I was asking which after rereading seems ambiguous was should I do the rest of the car in the same products. Or maybe hood for coatings, roof (no sunroof) with sealant, trunk with wax? sides as well testing vertical panels differ from horizontal panels etc.

Any thoughts of products you we should use specifically?

Claying; An archetypical iron-dissolver; or FK's 3-Step?
-Etc...

Good question, I have Eco-Smart and ONR with both have enhancers i believe. So maybe avoid them, maybe not. what does everyone think?

I usually wash with CG mr pink or Zymol soap with I believe no additives as far as wax or gloss.

I personally use AquaWax over a waxed car. And I use Reload over CQUK. For this test I am thinking of no toppers at all. Just raw coating vs coating

With the coating I will clay and/or Iron Decon. im thinking once every 6 months.
I feel like I should keep it as close to what the normal person would treat their vehicle. Or atleast what the bare minimum would be to keep the coating going strong.

I do not know what an FK is?

There is a nice area for about 4 coating on the hood itself.

Sounds like a cool comparison!

I'm with others on testing/comparing each product on the same panel. Another option is to apply one coating to the hood, one to the roof, and one to the trunk lid. While technically not the same panel, each one is horizontal which makes for a fair comparison. Comparing a vertical panel to a horizontal panel on the other hand is not a good comparison.
