Also, do you apply the wax by hand or with a machine. If it is with a machine which one do you prefer? A rotary or a da?

If you wish to perform what's often referred to, (at least in
the detailing-world), as "layering"; and if that "layering"
will be involving different types LSPs; then:

It's become a "best practice" to apply
a Sealant first, then a Wax.

Sealant 1st and then wax....both by machine!! I will use a foam applicator for the hard to reach places! I use a DA. I will use the Flex 3401 or my PC7424XP. I can use the Flex PE8 Kompakt, however, it doesn't oscillate and cover as much as the 5mm and 8mm throws the DA's do.

Either way any of the methods above are my method and fun!!

no need for a rotary, apply on low setting 2 or 3

:iagree: I use speed setting 1.5 - 2 applying sealant/wax with the Flex 3401. Speed setting 2 - 3 with the PC7424XP

IMO the only way to apply sealant/wax

I use 2 on my Rupes Mini with a 4" B & S Black or Blue pad

For me it's always a sealant first and maintain with spray wax.
Carnauba wax only before show ^^
